From our commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, Jefferson Central School District is sharing a review we have conducted of recent budget expenditures and per pupil spending compared to our BOCES region, and similar districts around the state.
Using the most current, publicly-available data in the New York State Education Department’s school report cards, the first table is a 3-year lookback at state & local expenditures, per pupil costs, and an average of both over that time period for all districts in the Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES region.
Jefferson has a unique enrollment profile for our region. A second table has been included, using the same metrics, and providing comparisons to districts outside our region that are Jefferson’s peers in terms of enrollment numbers.
We hope voters find this additional information helpful in advance of the vote on the 2026-27 proposed district budget and ballot measures scheduled for Tuesday, May 19th, and encourage you to reach out with any questions on this or any budget information we have provided previously.
